Hi Amanda,
Just thought you would like to know how Corky is going.
I LOVE HIM!! Absolutely full of beans, character, drive and charm.
Unfortunately N.Z doesnt have as many shows all the time like Auzzy
so his first one is coming up at the start of Sept. He has 2 in a row
and one has all overseas judges- so that will be good.
He loves being on the farm and has already mastered the art of motorbike riding.
Jess thinks hes great- but puts him in his place when need be.
Well just a quick update. Will keep you posted how he goes with his showing.
Take care and thankyou

Amanda,
Just another thank you.Hero is wonderful, gorgeous, smart and beautiful. He is already housebroken, can sit and come and leave it. loves people and happy. Exactly what I wanted. Rough and tumble outside and settles in the house in his x-pen. In his crate at night, not a peep unless he needs to go out, I am thrilled.
I am a very happy camper. Enrolled in puppy class. Breed shows in July.

Hi Amanda,
We haven't met or corresponded before, but I had to tell you what a fabulous pup you sold my dear friend Harilyn Adler. I went with her to pick him up from the airport in Orlando, and he came out of the crate wagging his tail and licking fingers and faces. wow. if I had traveled from Australia I know I'd be really grumpy <g>.
Harilyn and I have been friends for ten years (we met through rescue) and I've owned working mals since 1992. Harilyn loves my current 2 mals and decided she did not want show lines again.
I had looked at your website about 4-5 years ago and sent her the link to Bryan. I'm so happy she got this pup. The second day at her house, he was going through the agility tunnel, fully extended, on his own. He has a recall to die for! He travels so well, falls asleep in the crate when she's driving and when we got where we were going, he pops out and loooooves everyone he meets. Super temperament.
I've done lots of herding, and Harilyn asked if I'd handle him for her. I'm thrilled. I'm also involved in schutzhund and fly ball, and we are looking forward to trying him in those venues when he is old enough.
I wanted to tell you what a great little boy he is!!

Vanrusselhof Dizzy
Hi Amanda
Received Dizzys Certificate of Registration today, thank you. Diz had had her first few days at work with me this week and she has been amazing. She still wines a bit when chained up (I'm using a light chain as I fear her chewing threw a normal lead) but soon settles down; and when off lead will not leave my side, follows me where ever I go. I've got her to learn the "here" command and she comes running a 100 miles an hour (felt this one important being at work with me). She has been a little too helpfull sometimes, wanting to dig where I'm digging. She will bark at anyone who she doesn't know, the production manager at Yarralumla Nursery walked around my truck and I didn't even know they were there but Diz let me know straight away, barked like crazy till I said it was ok; and I was at Parliament House today and the gardeners fell in love with, thought she was amazing especially for her age. She is so loyal to me and smart its hard to believe she is only 10 weeks old. I love every minute with her and I can not thank you enough for her Amanda, she is just awesome.
Kind Regards

Dear Amanda
We received the vaccination certificate. Thank you so much. We named her Rush and she is fantastic, very motivated, very smart and full of energy.
She learns really fast that we’re amazed. She stays in her exercise pen at night and out during the day. She sleeps, exercise, eat and play. We’ve lost couple of kilos in two days. :-)
It’s just a week from the day she arrived but she’s already learned her name, to sit, wait and bringing back the toy to us. She jumps up and down as light as a cat and knows no fear.
We’ll keep in touch and send you some pictures soon.
Best regards

Today was Lyric's birthday and I really wanted to tell you how grateful we are that she is with us.
She is the ideal dog, the most perfect companion, incredibly intelligent, a superb athlete and a complete and charismatic charmer. At work she knows when to sit down and be quiet and when to make her presence felt. She spends most of her exercise time off lead because she will just return to me when necessary for appearances sake. She has great manners - I can take her absolutely anywhere and I do. And she is positively beautiful and eloquently expressive with both her face and her hands.
This is her at work, just about to go home after a morning training clients.
Thanks!

Hi Amanda,
Having PC problems, so using office Computer…..The Chip papers arrived
today, thanks, no rush on the papers, she won’t be doing any trialling this year….
Sanne continues to thrive, and is much loved and admired by all. She is a calm and confident puppy and catches on super fast, and I mean SUPER fast…
She and Daimon are inseparable and he seems to be teaching her stuff, which I enjoy watching, I know you have ‘Minime’, but seeing Sanne with Daimon is truly another “minime” she is so like him,
Thanks again and Merry Christmas,

Hi Amanda,
Thought we'd give you an update about trigger (Mr. blue from Y litter). he's an awesome companion for us both already. he finished top of the class in puppy school a few weeks ago, mastering the "come", "sit", "down" and "heel" commands.
From day one, we didn't have to toilet train him, he always went outside when he needed to go. he even goes to the toilet on command - which is helpful before car trips.
We live near 10 acres of open parkland (abandoned hospital grounds) and he gets two walks per day. most of the time he's off-leash in the parkland - we don't really need to use it, he stays close to us, and comes when called. he's just started taking interest in the water, confidently wading out to chest-depth.
We feed him the raw diet outlined by Dr Ian Billinghurst and he loves it. the vet is always impressed on how strong and healthy he is.
Thanks for all your advice, and for providing a best friend for both of us.
I've attached some recent photos.
Thanks again

Belgian Shepherd Malinois
Hi Amanda,
Here is the first weekly update on Mr Red. We named him Yuri, which is one Y-name that stuck. He settled in very well, sleeps in the laundry without fuss and is very loving, playful and bitey :-)
Everyone that comes to have a look at him, comments on what a good-looking dog he is and I agree.
We do a lot of stuff outside, painting and fixing up the yard and he's always there enjoying every minute.
Most importantly he used an enormous amount of diplomacy with the cat and now the claws are in and both are never far from each other. I attach a video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrShSwZf1KU&feature=channel_page
for you and if you are interested I can send you more.
Thank you very much for such a beautiful dog, he fits in perfectly and has the most nicest character.

Just to let you know Inka arrived safely today. I opened the door to her create at the airport and she was full on, wanting to play picking up anything she could find really nice.

Will keep in touch about her progress, thanks for all your help.

Hey Amanda,
I named the puppy Meeka and she is going great. Ive been taking her to puppy preschool and she is the best pup there. She is so smart-already learnt to sit, lye down, wait, drop, hop down, up stairs, down stairs and jump. I take her to the beach almost everyday and she loves it, she's not too sure of the water yet but she loves to run with me down the beach. If i ask Meeka to heal she will not leave my side, she will stay there and look up at me even if i let her go play. Thanks for a great puppy!

Hi Amanda!
Just letting you know that puppy arrived safe and sound in Wellington, none the worse for her rather long wait in customs.
She's gorgeous! Very brave and full of energy, she's been playing tug with me and exploring the garden and house all evening. We're probably going to call her Fledge, and will send you some photos as soon as she sits still long enough for us to take some...
Thanks for the vaccination certificate!

Hi Amanda
She's fantastic! After 15 minutes of excitement in the car, she slept like a baby the entire way home. Washing her was an ease and she ate everything. Introducing her to my 2 year old Labrador went better than expected. Afterwards they did have a bit of a scuffle, but she's got some fight in her lol which is good, I don't want him to completely dominate her. They get along perfectly fine when they're actually doing something whether it's eating, drinking, defecating and sleeping. I think after I start walking them together, they'll be 100%. But yeah, she already knows how to sit, stay and come. She follows us everywhere while looking up at us. She sits patiently. I'm amazed! I've never had a more well behaved puppy before. I think training her will be an ease. Plus she's very cute.
Thanks

Hello Amanda,
I hope you are keeping well. It will be one year on 14 June since Unya came into our family and I thought I would drop you a line to give you an update and some photos so you will know how she is going.
You will be pleased to know she is a very happy and healthy girl and completely settled in to our family. I love her dearly and she has become a very important part of my life. As you will see by one of the photos I sent you she really relaxes when she goes to sleep. It is not a very good photo as it was taken at night in a dim light in the lounge while we were watching TV but I quickly took it for you to see. She actually sleeps like that most of the time, flat on her back with her legs in the air and not a care in the world.
Unya and Gidget are good mates and seem to look out for each other which is wonderful as Gidget is not getting any younger. Unya is a very good watch dog which I am grateful for as I am quite often on my own and she is very protective.
I am sorry to say I have not been able to get back to obedience classes this year as my hours at work have changed and I cannot get there on time but I am going to try as we really enjoyed it. On the whole Unya is a well behaved girl and does as she is told. Weekends are for the girls and we go to the beach for swims or long walks which they both thoroughly enjoy and wear themselves out.
I hope you enjoy the photos, these were taken in the last couple of weeks.
Well Amanda I will close now and hope you enjoyed the update; Rest assured, Unya is a very happy, healthy and special girl and dearly loved.

Hello Amanda
Thank you for a delightful well adjusted dog with plenty of personality and attitude! She has settled in well.
The Sat evening was noisy with her crying but as soon as we turned the lights off at 9pm, she quieted and we have had no disturbed nights.
Yesterday she started to seriously play racing around the water tank and over mounds of mulch!
She is also getting used to the unusual noises - I wish I had a camera to record the expression on her face when the kookaburras started one morning.
I will keep in touch.
Best wishes

Aust CH Vanrusselhof Uknow Who
Hey Amanda
Just a quick update on "Shrek" Vanrusselhof Uknow Who, well I am finally home from a very rewarding but extremely long 2 days of shows. We missed out today on another Minor in Group but not too worry I am just so happy with what he has already achieved. Every time I have told someone about yesterdays Minor in show I start to cry again, I even cried when the judge gave him the Minor in Show. Silly me. He is now on about 48pts with 2 x minor in groups and 1 x minor in show. (as at 29/03/2009)
The judges on the Saturday were very nice. When the group was finished I went over to thank the Working dog judge and he told me Shrek was absolutely wonderful and impressed him the minute he first went in the ring for his class.
I went on to tell him malinois are few and far between and it is not very often that a mal gets anything as they are normally over looked. After talking about the Sydney Royal I told him I was not entered as my fear for Shrek was being none awarded for being young and the only malinois there, the judge said he was too nice a dog to be non awarded JUST for that reason, he said there should be no reason what so ever for Shrek to be non awarded, he was a very nice specimen and very stable. Extremely nice little malinois.... lovely example of a working dog.
The judge for in show after she had gone over all the dogs and we were lined up again didn't even hesitate to give Minor in show to Shrek, I didn't think I heard her correctly the first time until I looked at her and she was walking over to me to shake my hand. She also said he was just gorgeous and very very nice and was very deserving of the award.
So from both me and Morgan.... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for sending us such a great example of the wonderful malinois that you breed.
Take care and we will of course keep you informed when we have our next lot of shows.

Vanrusselhof Hecter (Japan)
Hi
I hope you are all well. I'm Japanese Yukari. One of your H litter's owners. His pedigree name is Vanrusselhof Hecter. His call name is Goda. Do you remember him?
Yesterday was his birthday. He turned four. I can't believe it! He is very amazing dog. I'm truly thankful that you gave me him.
Last year, I and Goda entered some obedience and agility competitions. We won the first prize in all obedience competitions. He did it! Goda is the perfect dog for me :-)
I uploaded his latest movie onto Youtube today. You can watch grown-up Goda! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PUIk9BwWFc
Our performance in this movie is not so good, and I'm worried that you may be disappointed, but I guess you can see he is doing fine at least.
I bought a video camera last month, and I will upload his good performance movie soon, please wait until then.
Best regards,
Yukari
Vanrusselhof Nitro
Hi Amanda,
Just thought I'd send you a few pic's of Nitro and a bit of an update. He's grown quite a bit over the last six months (appetite to match) and is looking great. he's 60cm at the withers and weighs 30kg. the only problem we've had is the meter man doesn't want to read our meter for fear of the dog when we're not home lol.
We could not be happier with him and thank you for sending him to us.
I've attached a couple of photo's of nitro on holiday in Exmouth in the north west as well as a couple at home.
thanks again

Vanrusselhof Jezabel
Hello
Belle is just wonderful, very obedient and she just loves to be with us. We take her with us everywhere and she doesn't roam at all.
She had her needles last Friday and nearly fell asleep on the vet. She is just so placid and everyone that sees remarks how great she is. Her appetite is good and she gets a lot of exercise running around with our children.
I am worried about the snakes as we now live on my parents property and I have thought about getting some plastic snakes to train her to stay away from them as it would just be terrible if something happened to her.
She is a very loving girl. We will send you a photo of her asap. She weighs 8.24 kg.
Thankyou,
Julie

Hi Amanda,
I thought it was you and I have been meaning to email you with an update on Bronson, with some pics, etc.
Short story - he's going really well. He is such a character and he and my daughter Jessica have really bonded well. Jessica is his handler so it has been a learning curve for both of them.
I will send an email to you with some pics in the next couple of days. I think he has turned out really well. As you know, it is nearly his 1st birthday. I do have some questions to ask you re. training and showing. I have been away from the show ring for some years so your input would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, cheers for now.

Vanrusselhof Rush
Hi Amanda,
Roxy (yep that is her name) is going along really well and seems to be really settled and she doesn't create too much drama - either she is incredibly smart or my previous dogs have been incredibly dumb ( I prefer to say that they were stubborn) She actually chases the tennis ball and returns it, she sits on command, she seems to be always up for a game of tug, and she is particularly good at pruning shrubs. I know of people who can't do such simple tricks, some of them work for me (maybe they are just stubborn too). Seriously though, I think she will probably be a ripper at obedience.

Hi
We have two Mals Kona (female) and Duke (Male). Kona has been fixed but Duke is intact. We would love to Breed Duke with a female from a good working line. We purchased both our dogs from AmandA Camiller in Austrailia. Our dogs are the best we have ever owned. The kennel's name is Vanrusselhof and they have a great website. http://www.malinois.net.au/index.html If you look on past litters Kona was in "C" litter and Duke was in "K" litter. I will cc Amanda so she will expect your call. We need more Mals in Hawaii. Good Luck.

Jasper the Wonder Dog
Hi Amanda
Just thought you might like an update on how young Jasper is going.
I had his eyes tested on his birthday on the 28th of June and they came out all clear. I also had his hips and elbows x-rayed a few weeks ago and although we haven’t got his AVA results yet I also had his hips PennHip scored and the results from that came back on Friday. My vet actually rang me up because he was so impressed with the results – apparently they’re the best hips he’s seen in a dog yet and he suggested that if we bred him to every Mal bitch we could find that we’d eliminate HD from the breed (don’t think I’ll be getting that carried away!)! The breed average (as you probably know) is 3.2, and anything under 3 you’re guaranteed that they won’t have any problems, Jasper came back with 2.4 on the right hip and 2.0 on the left.
We also passed our second HT yesterday so he’s now got his first title, which is very exciting. We’re up to Novice level in obedience but I probably won’t take him in a trial until at least early next year, when I might try for our CD. I’m thinking that once we’ve got that, however, that I might give up on the obedience and try our hand (paw!) at agility, which I find much more exciting and I think he’d probably have a ball too.
So I guess you could say it’s all happening down here, I hope you’re well and everything’s going along okay up there?
Cheers

Hi Amanda
See you've been busy with another litter of pups on the way.
Just a short note to let you know how Bronson's going. He's lost a lot of his puppy hair and is starting to get a bit darker on his back. He is very easy to traing having already mastered sit, drop and fetch (we say 'get it!'). He loves puppy preschool and is often the star of the show as his other classmates include some not so smart little fluffy dogs!
He is growing fairly quickly especially in height - I've attached a couple of photos from last week but he's probably already grown since then.

Hi Amanda
He is beautiful and was pretty relaxed and exploring the place a few minutes after we arrived home from the airport. He likes the pink fluffy pig, but of course our other dog is rather jealous and it seems to end up with her most of the time.

Hi Amanda,
How are you? I hope all is well. Thought I would send a couple of pictures and let you know the puppies are doing great.
They have settled in just great. They now spend part of their days together at Janine’s or my house and sleep separately. They really enjoy their playtime, but also enjoy getting away from one another as well for a break I think!!!! Miss Pink just doesn’t stop hassling/bullying Miss Orange, trying to steal her chick necks, food from her bowl, however when Miss Pink gets tired she wants nothing to do with anyone and gets a bit snappy towards Orange. I think Miss Orange lets her get away with a lot but when she has enough she just has a quick snap and Miss Pink stops. Miss Pink is definitely the sook though and a bit of bitch if I can use that term? He hee! They certainly are growing up fast.
We have taken them down the coast last weekend and they just loved it, the beach, the river etc. Especially Miss Orange, from the first day home in Sydney she put her front feet in one of the water bowls, next day she figured out how to put her feet half way up the side lean over and tip it everywhere and then play in the water. By the third day she was trying to get all her paws in and submerge herself! So she is definitely the water puppy. So I was very interested to see her reaction at the ocean and river. Ocean waves were a little large but she got bowled over a couple of timers and didn’t mind. At the river she just charged the water and lucky I had the leash on as I don’t think she would have come back!
I have changed Miss Orange’s name to Adara, (Addie or Dara for short); she just comes
to anything really at the moment. I went of Madison (Maddie).
She is great, very
smart. Sits and downs no drama, and that’s with no effort. Waits at the door in
a sit till I go through, doesn’t jump for her food. She is always alert, ears forward
and doesn’t miss a trick and I know she is just figuring everything out. I am really
going to have my hands full. Really starting to get great little facial expressions
now, I certainly don’t think I have watched any TV since we got them! That is a
good thing as they are just pure entertainment. Have had lots of people over and
they are all over everyone. Miss Pink was a little standoffish at first, but seems
to be ok now. It is noticeable when she is tired as she doesn’t want to deal with
other people much.
They are both sleeping well, not much crying except when I am leaving to go to work.
Anyway hope all is well with your dogs and puppies. I hope am still on the list for a male?! Got to have more, they are such great dogs.
Thanks once again!

"Just thought I send you an update on how “Kobe” Vanrusselhof Impact from your “I” litter is doing. Kobe is now just over 16 months and has taken to Schutzhund/IPO like a duck to water. Her coat has now just started to darken a little as she has just come out of her second season however she is still small in size and compact compared to her litter brother Vanrusselhof Ignition “Tag” who has a little more substance and taller. Hopefully over time she will put a little bit more weight and muscle on and look like her mum “kaiah”.
Because of her willingness to please character she has been very easy to train and learns very quickly, I believe that a lot of this is due to her genetics as it all comes to her like second nature. She has a very high drive and recovers very quickly from bad experiences and corrections. I have been training Kobe three times a week and she is picking up the components to the sport really well. In obedience her heeling is coming along really well, all I have to do is fine tune things like heeling off lead, work on the slow and fast pace and learn the full “BH” pattern and rules for myself, we will then both be ready to trail. Kobe’s character work is also coming along really well too as she has very good full grips and is now doing the hold and bark and the escape routine really well. Kobe shows very good work ethics in tracking and is very diligent in her work however this is one part of the sport that will take much more time, effort and persistence in getting right from me and her.
All in all, the jigsaw puzzle is coming together really well and I cannot wait to see the finished product. Thank you for selecting the right dog for me and breeding such a wonderful working/sporting dog."
Jay
Vanrusselhof Ignition
"Tag is a bit over 15 weeks old and I must say he is a WINNER! So much go but a super calm and social dog, what a pleasure to have around and what a thirst for learning!
His accelerant detection work is progressing so well I have to stop myself putting harder work up to him. I have to keep reminding myself that the little bugger is only 15 weeks old! He will not give up the search until he finds his narc pipe (with the reward in it). Great stuff!
IPO prep work is just sensational; he just loves to work. His tracking is very stable and intense with 70 step food tracks completed with ease. His beginner obedience has intense focus and very good concentration for his age and the ball retrieving is as it should be, fast out and faster back! Stationery obedience exercises are fast, happy and with concentration.
Rag work is really pleasing. Really hard bites and there is no adjustment, no growling and most importantly, no closing of the eyes when pressure is applied, even when 3 to 4 feet off the ground. He will charge at you during the back up and will not slow down at the point of contact! Great attitude and he will come back for more every time.
At the moment his progress is very pleasing.
Both ears are up and quite solid. No taping was necessary, just massage and praying. He looks a bit like Crusader Rabbit but no doubt his skull will develop and proportionality will reign!
Tag is nearly 15kg and not an ounce of excess to be seen. He has quite pronounced muscularity in his shoulders (even at this age); I think he's going to be one solid boy! He has a pleasing body shape and head, a bit long in the leg at the moment, but I think he will turn out to be a very nice dog.
Thanks for a great dog."
