Bryan was imported to Australia by Vanrusselhof Kennels in 2004. For the purposes of competition Bryan was transferred into the name of Reg Worth & in his retirement stays with Reg & Karyn on a permanent basis.
Bryan is the most highly credentialed working Malinois to ever enter Australia. He was the first Malinois in Australia to be titled and proven in BOTH working (Schutzhund IPO3) and conformation (Show) fields and is the only dog in Australia of any breed to have won the AUSC Schutzhund Nationals twice.
In April 2003 he placed 6th at the Danish Championship IPO 3 all breeds, and in May
2003 he participated at the World Championship IPO 3 Belgian Shepherds in Belgium.
Shortly after his arrival in Australia Bryan won the 2004 Australian Grand National
Schutzhund Championship and in 2007 Bryan made history when he become the first dog
to ever represent Australia at the FMBB IPO World Championships!
Bryan’s sizzling performances on the Schutzhund field marked the start of a surge in popularity of the Malinois in Australia, as this was the first time many in Australia had witnessed a fully fledged SchH3 working Malinois in action. Malinois numbers on the Schutzhund field rose from virtually non-existent to dominating the sport at an estimated 70% today with numbers in the Airforce and Police also growing steadily.
Not only a great competition dog Bryan has proved his worth as an excellent stud dog with progeny in the Police/Military/Security/Schutzhund/Correctional Services homes in Australia and around the world. Bryan is also the former no #1 stud dog of the world famous European Malinois kennel "Daneskjold", renowned for consistently producing some of the best working Malinois in Europe. With the impressive success of the B litter V Haus Mecki (which included Bryan, a litter brother with the famous Nordrhine-Westfalia Police and another litter brother very successful in German Regional Trials) the same combination was repeated by the very highly regarded German working kennel. Bryan features an “Elgos free” pedigree which is made up of some of Europe's most successful working bloodlines going back to some of the legends of KNPV such as Joerie & Robby and famous dogs such as G'Bibber and G'Vitou son of the legendary Clip.
Although unattainable for most working Malinois Bryan also possesses the good looks and conformation to boast a successful show career. Bryan is a Danish Conformation Champion, Danish Working Champion and an Australian Conformation Champion. In 2005 Bryan won Best of Breed at Queensland's 2 most prestigious All Breeds shows the Brisbane Royal & Toowoomba Royal!
A large masculine dog with excellent conformation, Bryan is blisteringly fast across the ground and hits with an impact and intensity rarely seen. Highly driven yet clear headed combined with a very solid nerve and a magnificently calm, full grip Bryan is very, very close to the perfect package.
