Due to
other commitments this service is currently discontinued.
For a
weekly fee I will train your dog to the required level
then compete with the dog until the required Obedience
title is achieved. This service is also available
for herding test levels (HIC, HT & PT) and Endurance Trials
(ET).
The dog will be required to board with me during both
the training and competition phase.
The dogs will be trained in 2 - 3 short training
sessions per day some of which will be at different
grounds and clubs for socialization and proofing against
distractions.
The first week will be free of charge at the end of
which both parties will be under no obligation to
continue with the training. During that time I will
assess the dog's ability to reach competition standard
and gain the title required.
This is not intended as a service for "problem" dogs but
for dogs with sound socialization and temperament whose owners for what
ever reason would like the dog to obtain an obedience
title.
Prior training
Unless training prior to arrival has been done by an
experienced handler who specializes in training dogs for
Competitive Obedience it is not normally much of an
advantage. In reality it usually means extra time
spent breaking bad habits that are unacceptable in the
trial ring. These Dogs normally require
re-training from scratch to enable them to reach
competition standard and successfully gain their titles.
Gastrointestinal
worm control & Flea and Tick control
Monthly medication for both must be supplied by the
owner upon dropping off the animal.
Vaccinations
A current vaccination certificate must be sighted for
verification. Any further vaccinations required
during the dogs stay are payable by the owner.
Veterinary Costs
Any veterinary costs incurred during the dogs stay are
payable by the owner.
Competition entry
fees
Competition entry fees are payable by myself. All
qualifying certificates, trophies and ribbons are the
property the owner. Ownership of cash or other prizes is
decided using my own discretion.
Competitions
Owners and family are requested where ever possible not
to attend obedience or Agility trials where the dog is
competing. Unfortunately this can be a huge distraction
for some dogs diminishing performance and scores on the
day.
Damage
While all reasonable care and precaution is taken during
your dogs stay - any accidental damage to house or
property is payable by the owner.
NOTE: Dogs/Bitches
under 12 months of age & Bitches in Whelp will not be
accepted for training

Philosophy
When it comes to dog training have a philosophy of
continual improvement. I own an extensive library of dog
training videos and literature which I have purchased
from overseas. I attend any seminars available in my
area learning from some of the best trainers in the
world.
Clients often ask what type of training methods I will
use on their dogs. I can not recommend any one method
for every dog I train because each dog is different. My training is
generally a balance of motivation, rewards combined with correction so the dog learns that obedience is
obligatory but can also be enjoyable. My training is
tailored on an individual basis to get the best results
from each dog.
